Activities at the Heart of Bregenz Forest
New experiences in new surroundings. The silence during a hike or the darkness in a cave can be as exciting as a white-water rafting trip.
In a localized manner, Brengenz Forest offers a variety of outdoor activities leaving nothing to be desired, such as white-water rafting, cave tours, canoeing, guided biking tours and hikes.
Fun-kayaking
Fun-kayaking is also fun to white-water rafting beginners. The fun-kayaks are much more stable in the water compared to ordinary kayaks. Invading splash water will flow off through drain plugs on the bottom and in case you upset the boat you do not have know how to do an eskimo roll.
Compared to the Canadian canoe, which often requires a longer process of training and team building to finally be in control of the boat, it is easy and quick to learn how to control a fun-kayak.
Bregenzerache Waldschlucht
The river area ‘untere Bregenzerache’ between Langenegg and Wolfurt is also best suited for absolute kayaking beginners. If you are a group there is the possibility to choose different kinds of boat types.
All tours start with an instruction about the paddle technique and detailed safety guidelines.

Cave tour
Explore with us the unknown depths of the cave ‘Schneckenloch’ in Bregenz Forest. Be guided through complete silence and darkness for a liminal experience with silence that will have a lasting impression.
Meeting and starting point for the cave tour is the car park in Schönenbach. After a 30-minute walk on the circular path in Schönenbach, we will reach the turning to the cave.
After another 30-minute walk on a short trail with an altitude of 200 metres we will reach the impressive cave entrance. After a short break in the mouth of the cave ‘Schneckenloch’ we will walk inward the mountain where you will receive an amazing view of the beauty. The cave ‘Schneckenloch’ is the longest cave in Vorarlberg with an overall length of approximately 2550 metres. Once you are in the cave you will experience a constant change of big, hall-like spaces and narrow or low alleys.

Guided tours at the high ropes course
This unique aqua high ropes course is situated below the Schwarzenberger climbing area above the amazing ravine of the Bregenzerache. In this area with escarpments which are thousands of years old, you can expect different stages: abseiling from a 30m high bridge, climbing rocks, via ferrata, cable cars and different high wire elements.
The highlight is a flying fox over the ravine of the Bregenzerache at the end of the tour.
